Free and Fantastic Mardi Gras Printables for 2024

I don’t know if you’ve ever attended Mardi Gras in any form or fashion but our family has sure had some fun experiences with this holiday.

In our small town we created a Mardi Gras parade for the kids. 

The first year it was just a bunch of mom’s with wagons and we went around and around the block a few times.  These days, it’s grown into a full on parade that everyone in town enjoys.

It was just as much fun when it was just the mom’s and kids though.

One year, we had the honor of riding on a float and throwing beads to the crowd. A friend of ours had a business that sponsored his float and invited us to join.

It was amazing.  It was exhausting.

We thought being on the other side of the parade, the inside of it, would be so much fun. Who knew that it would be so much work!?!

We started off standing on huge bags of beads because the trailer was so full of them. 

It was an unbelievable amount of beads in bags.  It seriously was hundreds of pounds of beads. It was hundreds of dollars of beads. Truly a remarkable amount of beads, and honestly, I had never really thought of all the money and work that goes into a parade.

And by the end of the parade we could barely move our arms.

Who knew that throwing beads was such a good workout?

We have one spot in our house that gets new decor for each holiday.  That way, even if we don’t go all out decorating, we do have at least one new thing that changes regularly.

It’s on the kitchen counter so it’s in a spot in our home that everyone can see.  That makes it even more fun to decorate it each time.

We can easily put a printable in a frame and have new art! 

It’s also just fun to have a dedicated space to celebrate anything. It can be as big as a holiday or as simple as beautiful weather.

For Mardi Gras we added a sequin mask and some beads and it’s all ready to go.

How to Print Your Art

We always recommend using card stock or a heavier paper than copy paper.  The designs will print up a lot crisper when they’re on a heavier paper.  And of course if you’re using them for invitations cardstock works much better.

All you need to make these is your printer and some paper.  Oh and scissors if you’re going to be using them as invitations!
